Skills and Scope of a General Contractor vs. Restoration Contractor
A general contractor will do new construction, and take care of the remodels of any existing properties. Restoration contractors are general contractors who specialize in reconstruction and restoration. Usually, you’ll call a restoration contractor because of covered insurance claims like fires and floods. They go in and work with your insurance company. They have their own pricing structure, and their job is to put the damaged portion of the house back to the way it was before the damage occurred.
Who to Call: General or Restoration Contractors
If a tenant tears up house, you want to call general contractor make the property ready for next tenant. But, if has fire that takes out quarter of property, you’ll restoration contractor. Or, an owner wants get intoinvestment properties with the intention of buying and flipping houses, a general contractor can help. But, an owner with a hot water heater that has blown up and flooded a house needs a restoration contractor.
